7-Year old artist in training follows in daddy’s footsteps.

Pint-sized Alicia Gutierrez of Abilene, Texas, is taking up the family craft.  She’s moved on from coloring books to real skin, practicing the art of ink at her father’s tattoo parlor.  She’s good too, staying inside the lines of a flower design on a man’s arm as she deftly maneuvered a buzzing needle while showing off for NewsFix.

Walter Smith Banned From Clearwater Middle School Career Day In Florida Because He’s A Tattoo Artist

Walter Smith says he creates art, but officials at his daughter’s middle school, where he’s recently been banned from attending career day, aren’t buying any of it.

No, Smith isn’t involved in adult films or anything illegal.

He’s a licensed tattoo artist. And despite having attended his daughter’s career day at Clearwater Middle School in Clearwater, Florida, two times in the past, this year the principal decided he was no longer welcome.

PLANT CITY —

Rich Lewis opened Angelic Tattoos less than a week after city commissioners abolished a longtime ban on tattoo- and body-piercing studios. The area has at least one other tattoo shop, but it’s located just outside the city limits.

Plant City residents who wanted a local tattoo shop encouraged him to open here, Lewis said. The city was already moving toward revising its laws when he rented his space a month ago.
